| Do
you need 40 days of isolation? Do you need
to sign a "covenant"? Do you need
to get a course in marketing? Only to be a
"good Christian"? The Church
Growth Movement, spearheaded by the Willow
Creek organization claims "yes".
The writer of the book "Who Is
Driving the Purpose Driven Church" has
done some really thorough research. He's
observing the "House Of Evangelical
Christianity" for decades and knows
what he's dealing with. After all, he's an
evangelical Christian himself, too. And that
makes him not only knowledgeable, but also
engaged.
Because there is something going on in
the evangelical churches. It's called the
"Church Growth Movement" (CGM) and
James Sundquist doesn't like it... Because
it has nothing to do with the true message
of Yesus Kristos and the Bible.
What are we talking about? There's a book
called "The Purpose Driven
church", by a writer called Rick
Warren. This book serves as the Bible for
the "Church Growth Movement". All
over the world, people are reading Rick
Warren's book and signing the
"covenant" that is printed in the
beginning of it.
"Covenant"? Yes, just like a lot
of things in the Church Growth Movement,
everything is based on marketing
technologies. A "covenant" is a
"Christian sounding word" for a
contract. When you sign the
"covenant" in Rick Warren's book,
you basically sign yourself into the
"new way of thinking" that is
driving the "Purpose Driven
Church".
Rick Warren, of course, is himself a
"pastor" too. He makes people sign
"covenants" in his
"church" too, and these
"covenants" go quite far. Of
course, Yesus never said to sign yourself
away in some contract/"covenant".
But in order to be part of a CGM-"church",
you'll need to.
What you sign is, that you put yourself
under the "authority" of the
so-called "pastors". The leaders
of the CGM-churches will tell you that you
have to obey the pastor for he knows best.
And when you disagree, when you have
question marks, then you are being policed
and excommunicated for "being
rebellious against god's appointed
leaders".
In an in-depth interview with Dr. Stanley
Montheigh from Radio Liberty, you can listen
to some serious information about the Church
Growth Movement. When you really love Yesus
Kristos, you better beware for this
"new movement".
