When you liked part one of the Algoriddim triplet
on Linvall Thompson, you will love the second
episode even more. Almost twice the length and
almost twice the amount of titles: Double
Trouble indeed. Our host carefully
selected well over 70 titles all somehow
involving Linvall Thompson's work as a vocalist
as well as producer. We see an impressive list
of vocalists, DJ and singers alike. Most tunes
come with a superb DUB version, or even more
than one, all mixed by an all-star list of DUB
engineers.
The works of Linvall Thompson are incredible
in both quality and quantity. In a way, you can
see his works as a "micro" Version of Reggae
history itself.
After listening to the 1 hour and 50 minutes,
it's like you got an overview of crucial Reggae
from especially the late 1970's. But in reality
we just featured the productional and vocal
works of just one man.
A very, very talented man.
A man who knows he has to give thanks and
praises to the Most High JAH for all things as
well. Most tunes in this selection would stand
in the Conscious category, which definitely adds
a dimension to the music.
