Recently, I came in contact with Zeph Daniel. A
truly remarkable person. He interviewed me for his
Radio show Channel-Z, gave me the possibility to
share information about Rastafari and Reggae
Music.
Zeph Daniel introduced me to a website
"Podshow.com", where artists can offer
their music to broadcasters. I uploaded my recent
works and it got played on a UK based electronica
show just hours after I started uploading my
music.
Then, this morning, I got an email about yet
another interesting non-Reggae show that features
my music. The "Idyllic Music Podcast"
selected my track Thunder DUB for their 79th
episode, which had the following theme:
"This week, we'll explore tongues and
grooves from 5 bands that build on individual
contributions to realize a vision beyond a
single person. They are Chillerstadt, prod13F,
Messian Dread, William Lamy and Alchemy Groove.
I'm Jim Nye."
Pretty humbling, as I would say.
For indeed, what I am trying to do goes way beyond
my own personal musical works. In fact, it is
giving thanks to a thing that I definitely have
not come up with myself: Reggae Music. I just
consider the independent promotion (DUB) Reggae as
part of my blesseth life, for I have received so
much blessings from this music myself.
I cannot imagine, that people
would actually choose Reggae Music as a vehicle to
promote they, themselves and them. I think, that
only the true Originators of Reggae are entitled
to do such a thing, but they will also promote
Reggae Music rather than themselves.
And that is, I think, one of the
biggest "secrets" of the music itself.
Ones who would like to promote
themselves and subsequently try to find a vehicle
for that, will never be able to play what is
usually called "authentic Reggae". For
"authentic Reggae" has nothing to do
with the promotion of ego's. The music itself
prevents this!
That's why I am so blessed by the
fact that I built this article around. I do not
consider this to be the promotion of Messian
Dread, I consider this to be the promotion of
Reggae Music as a whole.
If you promote Messian Dread
music, you will promote Reggae Music. You will
-hopefully- start to raise people's interest in
this music. And where people are introduced to
Reggae Music, sooner or later they will be
introduced to the Roots and than the awakening can
take place.
How can it be, that this island in
the Carrib was blessed to come up with this music?
What does it mean, that from this
island the Movement of Rastafari came into existence
and would later fit with Reggae Music like two
birds of one feather?
Why is Reggae Music best
"enjoyed" on a certain spiritual and
conscious level?
Why does it make people conscious
in the first place?
Questions, questions,
questions....
They can only be asked after being
introduced to Reggae Music, but when they are
answered...
