The Dubroom's MP3 Portal is almost as old as the
file format itself. It started with a single page,
then it went to three, then to thirty and now
mp3.dubroom.org has several hundred pages.
Of course, it has everything to do with the
fact that with the growth of the Internet and
broadband connections there's what seems to be a
never-ending stream of material that simply must
be reviewed.
The previous version of the MP3 Portal had the
music listed by the technical way it was
presented: a direct download link, or a link to a
song download page, or a link to a page from where
you can download more than one track.
If an artist had a download page as well as
pages from where you can download a single track,
you had to click several times before you could
find them all.
You could also browse through a page where all
artists were listed, but that page had become too
long in itself, too.
So, yes, an update was necessary and after many
days work, this has now been completed. The new
format integrates more with the rest of the
Dubroom reviews, too.
Major difference with the previous version is
that every artist now has a separate artist page.
Each page has -of course- the reviews, but it will
also be easy to find other material. Reviews of
video's by the same artist, for example.
Some artist pages will also have links to a
"similar artist", but this has not yet
been fully completed.
What has not, and will not change is the idea
behind the MP3 Portal. The reviewed music is
(unless noted) free, always legal and of
the same quality as what you can find in your
better Reggae record store.
After all, it's all about promoting (DUB)

Reggae Music, and free legal MP3 files are here
for exactly the same reason.
No negative reviews, which keeps it interesting
for everyone who is simply looking for Ire Music.
We're operating independent from any site or
organization, which is a guarantee that the
positive reviews are not just positive for the
sake of being positive.
Hopefully, the new format will be able to carry
all the music that is undoable coming our way as
more and more artists as well as listeners
discover the Internet as a great way of enjoying
Reggae Music legal and free!
