And so we have arrived at yet another situation,
wherein people are being put against each other
because some slick businessman wants to make
money.
Scientist, the young prodigy under whose hands
almost every multi-track recording became a
soundscape before the word was popularized in this
digital age. Scientist, who mixed music back in
the 1980's which are now used in computer games
such as the very famous "Grand Theft
Auto". And even though the contents of that
game is highly suspicious and I am personally
happy to read that Scientist would not have wanted
this, it says a lot when the makers of that game
think your music is the best!
Jammy's, the man who gave us that incredible
Black Uhuru album, whose long skillful echo's are
unmatched until the day of today. Jammy's, the man
who dared to explore the digital realms and drum
computers long before the rise of what is now
contemporary digital dance music.
Jammy's and Scientist, both happen to be pupils
of King Tubby's. In many ways, they are each
other's equals.
Scientist and Jammy's, I respect them both very
much for the incredible work they did. It breaks
my heart to see how they are fighting each other
where the real culprit is obviously neither two of
them.
There's no way for us to really verify the
validity and relevance of the death threats. I
mean, anyone can call Scientist and tells him
Jammy's wants him dead. Even when Scientist and
Jammy's do not see eye to eye - which is rather
obvious- this does not have to mean that
threatening each other with death is part of the
game.
So I won't comment on the specifics on the
conflict. For I think it is very clear for all to
see, that there are sinister forces that profit
when Jamaican originators fight against each
other. They are the culprits.
I hope and pray, that Scientist and Jammy's
will find each other in peace and one love. and
this will happen when they realize that it is not
about them at all, but about Babylonian
businessmen who like to make money over the backs
of Jamaicans.
